This workshop will be devoted to the ground-breaking work of Irad Kimhi on the metaphysical status of propositional content. His work is simultaneously original philosophy and a response to various major figures in the history of philosophy, including Plato, Aristotle, Spinoza, Frege and Wittgenstein. His central claim is that we should not think of propositions (the contents of what we think and say) as having any ontological status independent of our acts of speaking and thinking. He also takes original and challenging stands on the structure of predication, the role of the copula and nature of negation.
